Greenville County deputies to bike to coast in 3-day fundraising trek

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Cyclists from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office will travel from Greenville County to Charleston during a three-day Law Enforcement Torch Run “Cliffs to the Coast” event to benefit the Special Olympics.

Master Deputy Ryan Flood said deputies are riding to spread awareness of the 24,848 Special Olympics athletes in the state and to raise $10,000 for the next Special Olympics games.

Departing on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 19, participants will ride over 285 miles, starting from Caesars Head near the North Carolina state line and ending at the Atlantic Ocean in Mount Pleasant, SC.
