Cliffs Valley Ladies’ Golf Association raises $19K for Safe Harbor
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The Cliffs Valley Ladies’ Golf Association recently held their annual fall charity tournament in support Safe Harbor, a domestic violence agency serving Greenville, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties in South Carolina.
The event raised more than $19K for the organization, bringing the association's total contribution to Safe Harbor to nearly $90K over the last five years.
According to Becky Callaham, executive director for Safe Harbor, the partnership has been a source of great support that has allowed Safe Harbor to further its efforts in prevention, intervention (including child and family therapy) and community advocacy surrounding the issue of domestic violence.
“The sustaining support that the Cliffs Valley Ladies Golf Association has provided for Safe Harbor has, indeed, contributed to our overall success and growth for the past 5 years,” Callaham said. “Success for Safe Harbor means that we have been able to provide critical hope and healing to any victim of domestic violence-whether she needs shelter, counseling, advocacy or information. Growth means that we will be able to provide more depth to our services, including providing services to children who have been exposed to domestic violence. We are grateful for their partnership in making this happen.”
