Updated: Two men found shot to death in Travelers Rest identified

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Two people were found dead with gunshot wounds in a Travelers Rest home on Wednesday, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

Charles Rodgers, 69, and Charles Stanton Barnett, 50, were fatally shot at a home on Little Texas Road at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, said Coroner B. Parks Evans.

Both men died at the scene from gunshot wounds. The coroner has ruled the deaths homicide.

Greenville County Sheriff's Office Master Deputy Ryan Flood said deputies responded to a home in the 1000 block of Little Texas Road around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday to conduct a welfare check. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the bodies of the two adult men.

"At this time the investigation is in its beginning stages and there are no suspects or further details to release," Flood said.
