Dr. Stanley Coleman named Travelers Rest Citizen of the Year

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Dr. Stanley Coleman, Jr. was named the 2016 Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, it was recently announced.

Sponsored by the Bank of Travelers Rest, the award is presented to "someone who has gone above and beyond in recent times to improve the quality of life in our community."

Nominations came from local community members, and a committee determined the winner. The award was presented by bank president Bruce White at a dinner reception at Green Valley Country Club.

In practice in Travelers Rest since 1988, Dr. Coleman is best known for his work at Travelers Rest Family Practice, where he has served many in the community. An active member of the community, he is a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, a Travelers Rest Historical Society member and a 20-year member of the Sierra Club.
