Updated: Travelers Rest man killed in Main Street moped crash
Update (11/28/16): According to Travelers Rest Police Chief Lance Crowe, the driver of the SUV was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 62-year-old Travelers Rest Man died after his moped crashed into another vehicle on Main Street, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
Michael Lee collided with an S.U.V. in front of Spring Park Assisted Living around 5:20 p.m. on Monday. He was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash, said Coroner B. Parks Evans.
Lee was not wearing a helmet, Evans said.
The crash was investigated by the Coroner's Office and the Travelers Rest Police Department.
