Travelers Rest to host annual Christmas celebration at Trailblazer Park on Friday

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The city of Travelers Rest will host its annual "Christmas in the Park" celebration on Fri., Dec. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. at Trailblazer Park.

From 4:45 p.m. to 5:55 p.m., free rides around the park on the Polar Express will be offered. (Anyone interested in riding should plan on arriving early as rides will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.)

The celebration will also feature the arrival of Santa, the tree lighting, Christmas music, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help support the annual Travelers Rest Police Dept. Toy Drive.

4:45pm - 5:55pm: Ride the Polar Express Train
6:00pm: Opening remarks Proclamation of Arbor Day
6:00pm - 6:15pm: Songs performed by Heritage Elementary Chorus
6:15pm - 6:30pm: Hymns performed by the Clearview Baptist Choir
6:30pm: Reading from the Book of Luke, Mr. Travis Burns
6:35pm: Santa Lights the Tree with Mayor McCall
6:30 - 7pm: Visit Santa - Music by Dwayne Regan and Friends
