New apartment community to offer reduced rent to 'local heroes'

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The developers of Mosby Poinsett, a new apartment community under construction near Furman University, recently announced they will offer discounts to active, full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and public school teachers.

Middleburg Real Estate Partners, a Fairfax, Virginia-based real estate investment, development, and management firm, said they will set aside up to 14 select apartments for their "Local Heroes Program," offering a 30 percent discount on base rent of leases twelve months or longer.

Located at the intersection of Poinsett Highway and Old Buncombe Road, Mosby Poinsett is a 288-unit garden-style community that will feature a 6,300 square foot clubhouse, 24-hour fitness center, onsite concierge, saltwater pool, and views of Paris Mountain.

To be eligible for the discount, the person applying for it must be the primary income-earner on the lease and maintain their qualifying employment throughout the length of the lease.

“Those that serve our community should be able to live in our community,” says Austin Knapp, South Carolina Partner at Middleburg and local Greenville resident.

Mosby Poinsett is now pre-leasing with first move-ins scheduled for April 2017. One bedroom apartments start at a base rent of $1,049 (before the "Local Heroes" discount).
