Farmhouse Tacos opens on Main Street in Travelers Rest

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – A new farm-to-table restaurant opens on Thursday on Main Street in Travelers Rest.

Farmhouse Tacos, owned by local residents Chris and Katie Williamson, features a southern inspired, Tex-Mex menu (images below) and a motto of “Made with love in Travelers Rest”.

The Williamsons said they are committed to buying as much locally sourced foods as they can, taking farm tours and, in some instances, picking the produce right of the vine themselves.

"We try to get most of our produce and our meat from North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia," Katie said, pointing to a chalkboard at the rear of the restaurant that features the list of area farms whose products are currently being used.

Greenvillians who moved to Travelers Rest about a year ago, the Williamsons said they felt the timing and the location was right for what they wanted to offer.

"We just felt like this would be a great place to be, close to the Swamp Rabbit Trail," Chris said. "We are excited to be in Travelers Rest and we love this community."

Farmhouse Tacos is located at 164 S. Main St. in Travelers Rest.

Days and times of operation are: Tuesdays through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Monday.
