Bostick crowned Miss NGU 2017

TIGERVILLE, S.C. — Christal Potter, Miss North Greenville University 2016, passed her crown to Valerie Bostick from Greenville at the 62nd annual Miss NGU Pageant on Friday, January 20 in Turner Chapel.

Bostick, also given the physical fitness and congeniality awards, won a $1,000 scholarship and will compete this summer in the Miss South Carolina Pageant.

The first runner-up honor went to Sommer Cagle from Lexington. Celina Schwartz from Greenville was named second runner-up. Rachel Huber from Taylors was the talent winner and named third runner-up and Ashley Campbell from Moore, tied for the congeniality award with Valerie Bostick and placed fourth. 

Other contestants who received accolades: Kaitlyn Shumate from Inman was named photogenic and Tysonna Hutchinson from Hendersonville, NC was given the community spirit award.  

Contestants were judged according to a private interview, sportswear/physical fitness, onstage questions, artistic expression, and presence and poise. The interview portion of the competition was completed prior to the pageant ceremony.
