Wildflower plot planted in Travelers Rest
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The first of several planned wildflower plots was planted in Travelers Rest on Friday.
Located at the intersection of highways U.S. 276 and U.S. 25, the effort was spearheaded by Let's Keep TR Beautiful and also included volunteers from Thrive Upstate and Furman University.
The project was made possible by two local businesses — Tandem Creperie & Coffee Shop and Sidewall Pizza — that celebrated their business anniversaries with donations to Let's Keep TR Beautiful.
All of the plants that were used in the plot were grown locally by Thrive Upstate
An extension of Keep Greenville County Beautiful, Let's Keep TR Beautiful is dedicated to positive encouragement of local beautification of the Travelers Rest area. The group coordinates cleanup days for the city, rewards businesses for beautification projects on a monthly basis.
Thrive Upstate's mission is to provide all people with disabilities and special needs with meaningful services, opportunities and support so they may thrive in life, work and play.
