Virgil Holloway, 81 - Travelers Rest
Virgil “Eddie” Edward Holloway, 81, of Travelers Rest, husband of Judy Styles Holloway, passed away March 18, 2017.
He was the son of the late Virgil D. Holloway and Lillie Scott Thompson; veteran of the US Air Force and a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Holloway was a graduate of Shaunee High School and the University of Louisville. He enjoyed his many years of coaching football, baseball, and soccer along with being a high school history teacher. In 2005 he retired as the Director of North Greenville University Admissions and later went on serving as a NAMB (North American Mission Board Missionary.)
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter: Cheri L. Holloway; sister: Martha Jane Hundley; two step sons: Ben (Julie) Styles and Chris (Angie) Styles; step daughter: Valeria S. (Thomas) Hayes; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Mr. Holloway was predeceased by a son, Eric E. Holloway.
A church service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Locust Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2:45 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery.
