Travelers Rest Garden Club wins awards

GREENWOOD, S.C. — On March 7 the Travelers Rest Garden Club was presented with four awards.

The club received:

• The Garden Club of SC West Piedmont District Horticulture Award - First Place

• The Garden Club of SC West Piedmont District Reba Wall Garden Therapy Award - First Place

• The Garden Club of SC West Piedmont District Planting Native Trees Award - First Place

• The Garden Club of SC West Piedmont District President’s Report - Second Place

The Travelers Rest Garden Club was organized in 1932 and has 24 members. The goals of the group are to instill a love for gardening in every member and to set good, environmentally friendly gardening examples within the community using native plants when possible, according to spokeswoman Carol White.
