Sen. Corbin wins school choice award
COLUMBIA, S.C. — S.C. Senator Tom Corbin was last week presented with the "Champion of School Choice Award," given by the South Carolina chapter of PublicSchoolOptions.org.
The award recognizes "leadership and support for public school options." It was presented on the state house steps as part of the group's annual Capitol Day Rally, bringing together parents and students from across the state to learn about the civic process, meet with legislators, and share their stories about school choice.
“We are grateful to the many South Carolina lawmakers who trust parents to make education decisions for their children," said Kerry Levi, president of the PublicSchoolOptions.org SC chapter. "We celebrate the incredible opportunities choice has given to so many students and families, and we urge our lawmakers and education officials to continue trusting parents with these decisions, and to continue protecting and expanding school choice for every South Carolina family."
