Daniel Stamey, 68 - Marietta

Daniel Boyd Stamey, 68, of Marietta, widower of Gloria (Jane) Frasure Stamey, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Boyd and Ruby Lee Parnell Stamey. Mr. Stamey served in the US Air Force, worked for Ray Walker Trucking, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are two daughters: Shannon Mercer (Derrel), and Laurie Mercer (Rocky); one son: Jeffery Stamey (Tina); one sister: Vera Campbell (Kenneth); one niece: Mary Lee (Roman); two nephews: David (Gina), and Herbie (Courtnee), twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one grandson, Austin Stamey.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Reedy River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Reedy River Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home of a daughter, Shannon.
