Travelers Rest woman killed in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 25

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 47-year-old Travelers Rest woman was killed following a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Hwy. 25 near Old Settlement Road on Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:20 p.m. about five miles north of Travelers Rest city limits and just south of Highway 11.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office said Sharon Denise Duckett, of Tigerville Road, died after her black Nissan Sentry was struck by two vehicles as she was waiting to turn into a driveway in the 3000 block of Highway 25.

Coroner B. Parks Evans said Duckett was struck from behind, pushing her into oncoming traffic. As Duckett's vehicle spun, it was struck again the the rear by another vehicle.

Duckett sustained blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, Evans said. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The wreck is still under investigation by S.C. Highway Patrol troopers and the coroner's office.
