Baron Von Rice, 72 – Travelers Rest

Baron Von Rice, 72, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home.

Born in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of the late Russell and Vivian Phillips Rice. He worked in construction most of his life and a member of Travelers Rest United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Marian Salter Rice; daughter: Dawn Rice Jones (Lyle) of Summerville, SC; sons: Michael Rice (Angie) of Simpsonville, SC and Elliott Rice of the home; sister: Pat Riley (Bob) of Greensboro, NC; brother: Manfred Rice of Tallahassee, FL; half-sister: Becky Isley of Greensboro, NC; half-brother: John Lyman of Greensboro, NC and 5 grand-children.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow the visitation in the sanctuary at 3:00 p.m.
