Filing period for Travelers Rest mayoral, council seats ends Aug. 15
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The filing period to run as a candidate in the 2017 city of Travelers Rest municipal election ends at noon on Aug. 15, 2017.
In addition to the mayoral seat currently held by Mayor Wayne McCall, four city council seats — those held by Harvey Choplin, Rebecca Cooper, Rick Floyd and Jeff George — are set to be filled.

Candidates for city council shall announce their candidacy by filing a notice of candidacy with the city clerk. Candidates will also be required to pay a filing fee of five percent of the annual salary of the office they are seeking (mayor - $240; council - $120.00).
The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.
Candidates must be a resident of the city of Travelers Rest and a registered voter.
