Charles Johnson, 89 - Travelers Rest

Charles Quay Johnson, 89, of Travelers Rest, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.

Born on April 24, 1928, in Travelers Rest, SC, he was the son of the late John David and Carletha Scoggins Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 3rd Army, 22nd Infantry. He was retired from the School District of Greenville County and he was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

Surviving are his four children, C. Quay Johnson (Carol), Carolyn J. Styles (Joel), Rene J. Edwards (Andrew), and Charles K. Johnson (Tina); a brother, J.L. Johnson of Travelers Rest and five grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Johnson, Emily Johnson, Luke and John Johnson.

Along with his parents, Mr. Johnson was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anna Lee Beddingfield Johnson; a brother, Ralph Johnson and his sister, Mary Southerlin.

Funeral Services will be private.
