Travelers Rest HS FFA members seek recipes from area residents
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Travelers Rest High School Future Farmers of America members are seeking recipes from area residents for a community-sourced cookbook that the students are currently compiling.
Set to be released in October, "Travelers Rest FFA: Agriculture Feeds our Future" aims to include at least 200 recipes, with categories including Appetizers & Beverages, Soups & Salads, Vegetables & Side Dishes, Main Dishes, Breads & Rolls, Desserts, Cookies & Candy, and This & That (jams, jellies, anything that doesn't fit in another category).

The cookbooks will sell for $15 each, with all proceeds begin used to send the Travelers Rest High School FFA officer team to the national convention in October in Indianapolis, according to Elizabeth Canupp, Travelers Rest High School agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor.
Area residents wishing to submit a recipe should include their relation to the school (or community) and if they have a relation to FFA. Each recipe will be credited to the person(s) who submitted it and there will be a directory in the book where you can find your and your friend's recipes, Canupp said.
"We currently have everything from fried frog legs and dove stew to peach cobbler and sausage cheese dip," Canupp said.
