Loretta Nicholson, 72 - Travelers Rest

Loretta "Tootsie" Broom Nicholson, 72, wife of the late James “Bruce” Nicholson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home.

Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Hobert McDonald Broom Sr, and Ora Jane Jones Broom. Loretta worked as an office administrator over the years and was a member of Belvue Baptist Church.

Loretta is survived by her daughter: Tammy (Rusty) Stiwinter; son: Dennis Nicholson; sisters: Mary Ellen Owens, Mildred Cox and Netta Jean Baker; brother: Hobert McDonald Broom, Jr.; grandchildren: Jeffrey and Ashley Stiwinter and many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Loretta was predeceased by sisters: Anna Lou Broom, Nannie Mae Ford, Marvetta Wilson and a brother: Lee Roy Broom.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 1 until 1:50 pm at Belvue Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm.

Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home.
