Travelers Rest man dies following Main Street crash
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 67-year-old Travelers Rest man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash on Main Street in Travelers Rest on Friday morning.
According to the Greenville County Coroner's Office, Carl Secrest Jr. crossed into oncoming traffic near Williams Road, striking another vehicle head-on around 12:15 p.m.
Secrest was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he died on Sunday from his injuries, Coroner B. Parks Evans said.
Secrest was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the coroner's office.
The crash is under investigation by the Travelers Rest Police Dept. and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
