Missing hikers found after search at Bald Rock

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — Two hikers who went missing on Saturday at Bald Rock Heritage Preserve in northern Greenville County were found on Sunday morning, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Ryan Flood said a 7-year-old girl and her mother's boyfriend, 37-year-old James Bridges, went hiking on a trail around 6:30 p.m. and did not return.

The girl and Bridges were found on Sunday around 10 a.m. following a search-and-rescue mission involving multiple agencies.

Both were reported to be OK.

Comprised of 165 acres, Bald Rock Heritage Preserve adjoins Caesars Head State Park and is part of the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. The rock, for which the preserve is named, is a popular tourist attraction.
