Poinsett Highway, Center Street revitalization plan released

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The results and recommendations of a master plan to revitalize the Poinsett Highway and Center Street corridor in Travelers Rest has been released and is available online.

Developed by Greenville-based Alta Planning + Design, the comprehensive plan identifies recommended use, facilities and infrastructure, including transportation needs and short- and long-term strategies to encourage economic development.

Alta previously developed the Travelers Rest Main Street master plan and master bicycle plan.

"In the coming months, Travelers Rest council members will be discussing and prioritizing an order of implementation," said City Administrator Dianna Gracely, adding that any plans would be completed in phases.
