Marietta man dies following Geer Highway crash

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A Marietta man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash on Geer Highway in Travelers Rest on Sunday evening.

According to the Greenville County Coroner's Office, 60-year-old Louis Reyes lost control of his pickup truck and traveled down an embankment, striking a tree.

The wreck happened near Circle Drive, about a mile outside of Travelers Rest city limits. 

Reyes, who was wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he later died at the trauma center, Coroner B. Parks Evans said.

The crash is under investigation by S.C. Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
