James Moffitt, 80 - Travelers Rest

James Earl Moffitt, 80, of Travelers Rest, passed away Wednesday October 18, 2017 at his home.

Born in Henderson County, NC, he was a son of the late Harvey Earl and Mayo Rebecca Allison Moffitt. He retired after 36 years with Roadway Express, veteran of U.S. Air Force, and a member of Unity Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Doris (Pace) Moffitt; son: Jimmy Moffitt; daughters: Jennifer Eleazer(Dimp), Summer Whitmire; grandchildren: Savannah Davis(Adam), Noah Moffitt, Levi Moffitt, Gabe Eleazer, Cameron Eleazer, Haleigh Dilleshaw; great-grandchild: Harper A. Davis; Sisters: Wanda Alger, Sue Terry, Eloise Farias(J.J.), Carolyn McCoy(Dale), Debbie Pridmore(David); brother: Carroll Moffitt(Tammy).

Along with his parents he was predeceased by sisters: Juda Warren, Bonnie Jean Newman; brother: Spauldin Allison.

Graveside services will be Friday afternoon at 1pm at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.

The family will be at his home.
