Samuel Edward Huff, 86 - Travelers Rest

Comforted by his immediate family, Samuel Edward Huff, 86, of Travelers Rest, died May 1, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare from complications of congestive heart failure.

Born to William Augustus Huff and Bessie Mae Benson, Mr. Huff is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ferguson Huff; daughter, Shay Harris, and son in law, Henry Harris of Washington, GA; grandson, Jeremy Melton and his wife Cheney. Surviving siblings include: Prue Huff, Carroll Huff and sister in law Sarah Huff, and Pneuma Moore and sister in law
Natchie Huff. In addition to his parents, Mr. Huff was predeceased by siblings: Bradley Huff, Jack Huff, Curtis Huff, Nancy Fleming and Bobby Huff.

Mr. Huff was a retired Operations Manager for Burriss Chemical Company. He was a member of Leawood Baptist Church having served as Deacon, Sunday School Department Director and long time choir member.

He served his country honorably as a member of the U. S. Marine Corps.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of The Howze Mortuary in Travelers Rest, SC, on Sunday, May 4, at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.
