Travelers Rest High School's 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown' opens Thursday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Travelers Rest High School department of fine arts will present "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” with book, music, and lyrics written by Clark Gesner, on May 8-10.
Experience a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his friends as the cast performs a series of vignettes and songs adapted from classic moments in the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz.
The musical features Eli James as Charlie Brown, with his dog Snoopy portrayed by senior Jenny Alexander. Seniors Brooke Barber and Wes Tolson will play siblings Lucy and Linus van Pelt. Freshman Milla Blackwelder will portray Patty, an original character to the “Peanuts” line up who replaced as Sally in the Broadway revival. Rounding off the six person cast is Zach Williams in the role of Schroeder.
The performance also will feature a live orchestra comprised of Travelers Rest High School band students, and the set was painted by art students.
General Admission tickets for school age children through senior adult are $8.00 and can be purchased at the door.
Performances will be nightly at 7 p.m. in Travelers Rest High School's Patricia Hunt Auditorium, located at 301 North Main Street, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
