Greenville County deputy injured in Poinsett Highway crash

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A Greenville County deputy was injured in a single vehicle crash on Poinsett Highway near Roe Ford Rd. on Wedensday night.
According to agency spokesperson Sgt. Ryan Flood, the deputy was responding with lights and sirens to an emergency back-up call around 9 p.m. when he veered off the side of the road and struck a tree.
Flood said the deputy was transported to the hospital, where he was in stable condition.
The wreck is under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
