Travelers Rest to hold special election to fill council seat

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The city of Travelers Rest will hold a municipal special election on Tues., March 20, 2018, to fill the unexpired term of councilmember Brandy Amidon, who was recently elected mayor or Travelers Rest.

NOTICE:

Candidates for city council shall announce their candidacy by filing a notice of candidacy with the city clerk. 

Filing for candidacy for the March 20th special election shall open at noon on Jan. 5, 2018, and filing will close at noon on Jan. 16, 2018. 

Candidates shall be required to pay a filing fee of 5 percent of the annual salary of the office they are seeking.  (Council = $180.00).

Candidates must be a resident of the City of Travelers Rest and a registered voter.

This term will expire 12/31/2019.
