Thelma Case, 92 - Travelers Rest

It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Whitaker Case, wife of the late Herman Hardy Case, announces her passing on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the age of 92 years. Thelma loved her Lord and was a strong Christian mother and grandmother. She enjoyed serving others in ministry through her church. She was also a talented seamstress and gardener.

Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy (Don) Rholetter and Sara (Alex) Crane. she will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren: Donna (Bill) Walters, Carmen (Charlie) Mitchell, Jason (Lynn) Crane, and Amanda (John) Cox; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and by her sisters: Norma Jean Miller and Viola Sitton.

Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Lloyd R. and Viva P. Whitaker, and her two sisters, Margaret Bryson and Eloise Praytor.

A celebration of life in memory of Thelma will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Taylors, SC, with Pastor Ralph Carter and Jeremy Roberts officiating. Friends will be received at 1:00 pm, followed by the service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the ceremony.

Those who wish may make memorial donations in memory of Thelma Case to the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.

A special thank you to the caretakers at First Light, Mom’s 2 Daughters, and The Arboretum at the Woodlands for the loving care given to “Miss Thelma”. You are truly angels on Earth!
