William Bailey, 68 - Travelers Rest
William Carroll Bailey, 68, died peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018, at his home in Travelers Rest, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Greenville County, the son of the late William Edward and Bertie Lucille Stewart Bailey. Carroll served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. During his tenure, he earned the rank of Sergeant, was awarded with the Purple Heart, and the Silver Star. After leaving the Army, he became a master carpenter. Carroll was a member of Belvue Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, and attended Foothills Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of forty-eight years: Lydia Brown Bailey; two sons: Rodney Bailey, wife April, and Jason Bailey, wife Jessica; four brothers: Robert Bailey, Doyle Bailey, Larry Bailey, and Gary Bailey; the lights of his life, his grandchildren: Daniel, Nathan, Mackenzie, Makayla, and Jackson; and his beloved dog Reggie.
He has gone to rejoice with the Lord along with his parents, his six brothers: Edward Bailey, Jack Bailey, Roger Bailey, David Bailey, James Bailey, and Wayne Bailey; his only sister: Shirley McCall, and his dog Willie.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Carroll influenced are invited to a celebration of his life at The Howze Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
