Travelers Rest man dies after being struck by vehicle in parking lot

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — An 85-year-old Travelers Rest man who was struck by a vehicle in a restaurant parking lot has died of his injuries, the Greenville County Coroners Office reports.

James Edward Brehm was struck by a vehicle in the Bojangles' parking lot on Wade Hampton Road in Greer on Jan. 26, according to Coroner B. Parks Evans.

A witness at the scene said that Brehm was walking across the parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle backing out of a parking space, according to Evans.

Brehm died from blunt force trauma to the head, Evans said.

The manner of death was ruled accidental.
