Cecil Stroud, 100 - Marietta

Cecil Marie Batson Stroud, 100, of Marietta, wife of 59 years to the late Walter Thomas “Walt” Stroud, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Autumn Care in Saluda, NC.

Born in Greenville County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Esley and Lennie Bates Batson. She was retired from J.P. Stevens-Slater Plant, member of Senior Action, loved flowers and working in her yard. She was the oldest active member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served faithfully until a few years ago with her declining health.

She is survived by her daughter: Marrie Stroud Loftis, grandchildren: Latosha Anderson, Larance Loftis(Brandi); great-grandchildren: Payton Anderson and Parker Anderson.

Along with her husband she was predeceased by sisters: Daisy Batson, Ella Mae Owens, and Jessie Batson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2pm until 3pm at The Howze Mortuary.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 3pm at The Howze Mortuary Chapel, with burial to follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter Marrie Loftis.
