TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 22-year-old man died following a wreck on Geer Highway Friday morning, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
The two-car crash happened around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Tugualoo Road.
Coroner B. Parks Evans said that Charles Raekwon Guzman, Jr., of Taylors, was traveling east on Geer Highway when he struck the curb and overcorrected, crossing into the opposing lanes of traffic.
Evans said that Guzman, who was driving a 1995 Jaguar, was struck broadside by a 2016 Dodge 2500 pickup truck that was traveling westbound.
Guzman was pronounced dead on the scene, succumbing to blunt force trauma injuries.
A woman and her five-year-old daughter were in the Dodge truck. They were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
