Wheels for Meals Charity Ride provides more than 26,900 meals
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The 12th annual Wheels for Meals Charity Ride benefiting Meals on Wheels of Greenville, presented by Fluor Corporation, was held on Saturday, April 28 at Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest. Over 400 cyclists participated in the event’s five rides—a 10-mile Family Fun Ride, 25-mile, 50-mile, 72-mile and 100-mile English Century—and finished the day with a Post-Ride Celebration.
The event provided more than 26,900 meals for the homebound clients of Meals on Wheels.

“We are truly grateful for the cyclists, corporate sponsors, volunteers and donors who supported the 2018 Wheels for Meals Charity Ride,” said Amanda Osborne, Director of Development at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “The funds raised through this event will make a big impact in the lives of the homebound individuals throughout Greenville County.”
Funds from the Wheels for Meals Charity Ride are raised through sponsorships and peer-to-peer fundraising by participants. Since the ride’s inception, Wheels for Meals has provided over 296,700 meals for the homebound. Fundraising has been extended through Friday, May 4, so there is still time for the community to donate online at www.WheelsforMeals.com.
