Travelers Rest Farmers Market 2018 season gets underway on Saturday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Now entering its eleventh year, the Travelers Rest Farmers Market will kick off the 2018 season on Sat., May 5 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. at Trailblazer Park, located just off Main Street and the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Market vendors feature locally grown fruits and vegetables, a variety of meats, cheeses and eggs, fresh baked goods and breads, flowers, herbs, mushrooms, health and beauty care products, specialty foods, coffee and more. “We are looking forward to a great season of highlighting our vendors and working to create a strong, local food network in the northern Greenville County community," said Valerie Richardson, market director.
At Saturday's opening day event, non-regular vendors will also be on hand to take part in the Annual Plant Sale, and mobile food/beverage/dessert vendors will include the The Hungry Drover, One Love Fusion Foods, and Chillwagon. Music will be provided by Indigo Roots. Returning market programs include Market Talks (with GG Master Gardeners), Market Fitness (with Greenville Yoga, 8:30 am - 9:30 am), and Market Kids ("Plant a seed for life").
A free trolley service will be available on opening day, with pickup locations at Travelers Rest United Methodist and the municipal parking lot on Center Street.
EBT is are accepted at the market throughout the season. If EBT users swipe for at least $5.00, they will earn $5.00 in extra free tokens to spend on fruits and vegetables at the market.
The Travelers Rest Farmers Market is located at 225 Trailblazer Drive in Travelers Rest, S.C. Market hours are from 8:30 a.m. - noon every Saturday from May 5 through the end of September.
