John Earl "Pete" Tucker, 81, of Marietta, died suddenly Sunday May 4, 2014, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Claude and Cecil Bridges Tucker. He married his love Helen Collins Tucker on August 7, 1954, and lived together all these many years in Marietta. He was retired from Yellow Freight, an active member of Ebenezer Lodge, Greenville Shrine Club, The Scottish Rite Temple of Greenville, and on the board of The Marietta Water District. He was also a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was of the Baptist faith. Pete enjoyed attending Auto auctions and seeing his many friends. He was an avid car collector.
Along with his wife of 60 years, Helen, he is survived by; daughter: Sharon and her husband Chris Parnell; grandson: John Parnell; brothers: Billy Tucker and Joe Tucker.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter Courtney Parnell.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 6:30 pm at The Howze Mortuary Chapel.
