TRAFFIC ALERT: Swamp Rabbit 5K set for Friday in Travelers Rest

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Organizers with the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit 5K are hoping for a record crowd on Friday, May 3 as the largest independent 5K in the state is set to take place in Travelers Rest.

With thousands expected to descend upon town for the tenth running of the annual event, Travelers Rest police say that traffic will start to get heavier in the late afternoon, peaking in the hour before the race (which starts at 6:30 p.m.). The exiting traffic will create a similar situation heading out of town for an hour or so afterwards, too.
