TR Town & Art Crawl returns Friday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The TR Town & Art Crawl happens again this Friday, May 11th from 6p-9p with visitors to Main Street in Travelers Rest taking part in celebrating spring flowers, mom’s night activities, music and art.
Local spas are offering complementary six-minute massages for mom in front of My Sister’s Store as an early Mother’s Day treat. As you walk along the Crawl route, which spans downtown Main Street and State Park Road, visitors will find pop up flower art exhibits handmade by local Girl Scout troops, Heritage Elementary School, the TReehouse Café and Studio and TR Makers Co.
Following last month’s Crawl, which saw close to 1,000 visitors, event organizers are continuing to bring together local business, art, and community for this month’s event.
“It was beautiful and showcased everything I love about Travelers Rest," said Mayor Brandy Amidon. "The people, the love, the walk, the kids...the art...the music. It was just magical and I had so many people tell me just that!”

Local businesses PatioFlavor, Leopard Forest Coffeehouse, TReehouse Café and Studio and TR Makers Co are working together to help provide free kids activities like plant a flower for mom, create your own small oil wash masterpiece and build your own hat. Other events for kids include games and face painting by Gateway Baptist Church and Sidewalk Chalk Art at the Gazebo green space.
This month’s music features internationally toured artist and local, Shane Ericks playing on the front porch of My Sister’s Store beginning at 6:45pm and followed by the weekly Friday Night Jam Session. In addition visitors will find the music of Shufflebutton at The Grove at Upcountry Provisions and singer Dave Mauldin on the roof top at the Whistle Stop.
The popular rock hunt, Find-and-Seek for $50, will be back again for this evening offering one lucky seeker the prize of $50 in TR Crawl Gift Certificates. Visitors can pick up a Crawl Card to play along at the Gazebo across from Gray Mare Antiques, My Sister’s Store or TR Makers Co. Craw Cards provide a map of the entire route along with access to special deals and promotions happening during the crawl event.
Visitors are also encouraged to dress for the festive Friday night event in their own floral hat creations with Arts Cash and bragging rights for the winner of Best Dressed Hat, Most Unique and Greatest Kids Creations available.
