Chocolate Thunder to play Trailblazer Park Saturday
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – Linda Rodney, a.k.a Chocolate Thunder, will take the stage at Travelers Rest's Trailblazer Park on Saturday night, continuing the inaugural “Music in the Park” series at the newly-opened venue.
A mix of Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin all rolled into one, Rodney doesn't hold back, roaring on stage in an explosion of heart, soul and raw vocal energy.
Born in Simpsonville, Rodney has performed with names like Eddy Kirkland, Big Bill Morganfield, Sunny Rhodes, Little Pink Anderson, Cootie Starks, Elmore James Jr., and has opened for B.B. King and many others.
The May 10 concert is free, as are all concerts in the Trailblazer Park music series. Food vendors and the craft beer stand open at 6 p.m.. The music starts at 7 p.m.
Trailblazer Park is located at 115 Wilhelm Winter St., accessible by Highways 25 and 276 as well as the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
