Annual PB&J Kids Fun Run set for Friday in Travelers Rest
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Now in its third year, the George I. Theisen YMCAs Peanut Butter and Jelly Kids Fun Run will be held Fri., June 8 beginning at 6 p.m. at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church.
Organized by YMCA volunteers as a part of the Y's Togetherhood Initiative, kids ages one and up run in age-appropriate races of varying lengths with the cost for entrance being one jar of peanut butter or one jar of jelly.

Last year, nearly 150 kids took part and more than 600 pounds of PB&J was collected at the event, all of which was donated to the North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry to help provide for people in the community.
Event schedule & race distances
6:15 p.m. - Division 1 - Ages 3 and Under - 1/4 mile
6:30 p.m. - Division 2 - Ages 4-6 - 1/2 mile
6:45 p.m. - Division 3 - Ages 7 and up - 1 mile
**Children must participate in the division of the age they are on race day.
Race course
All races will start and end at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church and run along the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Awards & prizes
All participants will receive a race bib, post-race snacks and goodies.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female for each race.
