Ruthea Lee Silvers, 93 - Travelers Rest
Ruthea Lee Silvers, 93, entered into eternal life on August 11, 2018 at McCall Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Born in Westminster, SC, she was a daughter of the late Major and Carreecie Lee. Mrs. Silvers was an expert seamstress and worked many years at boutiques in Greenville, SC. She also designed and made many wedding gowns for family and friends. She was an avid photographer of historical places around Travelers Rest. She was a member of Forestville Baptist Church.
Surviving are three children, Elaine S. Bowers, Carice S. Conway, and Ike Silvers (Teresa); a family friend Bob Shannon; four grandchildren, James Monroe (Lisa), Chris Bowers (Mary Beth), Karen Freeman (David), and Melody Cook (Henry Lee); and the adored great grands – Derek, Jaden, Max, Lucas, and Eva Grace and a nephew, Glenn Lee.
In addition to her husband of 70 years, Andrew Z. Silvers, she was predeceased by an infant daughter Joan Irene Silvers and a brother Curtis Lee.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in The Howze Mortuary Chapel. Entombment will be held in Coleman Memorial Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes.
