Greenville County Rec receives $42K for Slater Hall improvements
SLATER, S.C. — Greenville County Rec. representatives were last Thursday presented with a check for $42K, funding to help with the rehabilitation of historic Slater Hall.
The state treasury money was secured through the collaborative effort of S.C. Representatives Mike Burns and Dwight Loftis, S.C. Sen. Tom Corbin, and Greenville County Councilman Joe Dill.
"It is a historic building, built as the centerpiece of the community," Rep. Burns said, adding that the funds were another positive step in it's continued preservation.
Built in 1938, Slater Hall was reopened in 2010 by Greenville County Rec., which operates the facility as the Slater Community Center.
