Gracie Cochran, 72 - Travelers Rest

Gracie Johnson Cochran, 72, of Travelers Rest, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 21. She was the daughter of Joseph M. and Irene Poole Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earle Cochran, her brother Joseph E Johnson, and her sister, Mary Ann Johnson.

She is survived by her sister Sybil Dinwiddie of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her sons, Richard E. Cochran (Brenda) of Travelers Rest, Marshall F. Cochran (Sandy) of Inman, SC, Nathan J. Cochran (Rene) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ryan, Cassie, Adam, Kevin, Blake, Luke, and Kyla.

Gracie was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest working with the children’s ministry throughout the years. She graduated from Travelers Rest High School and was employed by Cresswell & Edwards-Thomas accounting firm of Travelers Rest.

Gracie was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower garden. She loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, and all kinds of crafts. She loved reading and read every book she could. She loved cooking for her family and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. She always looked for ways to help others and found her greatest joy in giving. She will be greatly missed by her family, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27, from 10:00 to 12:00 at First Baptist Church of Travelers Rest with service beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will be immediately following at Mountain View Memorial Park. Gracie loved bright colors so for anyone attending the service, please limit the black and celebrate the bright and colorful person she was by wearing the bright colors she always loved.
