Louise Cooke Harris, 55 - Travelers Rest

Louise Cooke Harris, 55, of Travelers Rest, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, February 9, 2019.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, of 37 years; her daughter, Elena Steadman; a grandson, Silas; and her stepfather, Frankie Bailey. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Cooke and Vera Bailey, both of Travelers Rest.

Louise was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School, Class of 1980. She furthered her education at Greenville Techincal College and was a Surgical Tech with the Greenville Hospital System before opening her dance studio. Louise retired after 20 years as owner and dance instructor of Louise's House of Dance. Her students lovingly call her Mrs. Louise.

Louise was a member of Enoree Baptist Church. She had a great love for the Lord and she showed that to her family and friends with her servant heart as she ministered and cared for many of her loved ones. She was a woman of boundless energy. Her great joy daily was being a wife, a mother, an incredible friend and “Granny” to Silas. She loved the outdoors, camping, gardening, canning, working their small farm, including her bees and her schnauzer, Edison.

There will be a cake and coffee drop-in beginning at 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Clearview Baptist Church, 5611 State Park Road, Travelers Rest, SC.
