One person killed in Marietta head-on wreck

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 48-year-old Cleveland man was killed Thursday afternoon following a two-car, head-on crash on Geer Highway in Marietta, according to the Greenville County Coroner's office.

Walter E. Landon, of Club Terrace Drive, was pronounced dead on the scene, coroner B. Parks Evans said. 

The wreck happened near Pearl Avenue around 4:25 p.m.

The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, the coroner said.
