Hiker finds body along northern Greenville County trail

LANDRUM, SC — Deputies say a hiker found a man's body off a trail in northern Greenville County on Wednesday.

The coroner responded around 7:30 p.m. to Oak Grove Road and confirmed one person was dead.

The body was along the Chestnut Ridge Heritage Preserve Trail, according to the coroner's office, who also said that the time of death was around 4:30 p.m.

An autopsy will be performed on Thursday to determine a cause and manner of death.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of the family.
