Filing period announced for Travelers Rest council seats

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The filing period to run as a candidate in the upcoming city of Travelers Rest municipal election will open at noon on July 15, 2019, and will close at noon on Aug. 15, 2019.

Four city council seats — those currently held by Grant Bumgarner, Kelly Byers, Shaniece Criss, and Steve Waddell — are set to be filled.

Candidates for city council shall announce their candidacy by filing a notice of candidacy with the city clerk. Candidates will also be required to pay a filing fee of five percent of the annual salary of the office they are seeking ($180.00).

The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019.

Candidates must be a resident of the city of Travelers Rest and a registered voter.
