Travelers Rest man dies two days after motorcycle crash

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A Travelers Rest man died from his injuries following a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon, according to Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill.

Edward Dwight Cothran, 73, of Travelers Rest, died Friday, Dill said.

Cothran was on a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle traveling toward Greer on Locust Hill Road on Wednesday around 2:25 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with a delivery van at the intersection of East Darby Road, Dill said.

According to Dill, Cothran was taken to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.  He died from blunt force injuries Friday just before 2:30 p.m.

He was not wearing a helmet, Dill said.

The manner of death is an accident, Dill said.
