Donald Buchanan, 72 - Travelers Rest

Donald Joe “Don” Buchanan, 72, of Travelers Rest, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.

Born in Greenville, SC he was a son of the late Hazel Buchanan Yelton. Mr. Buchanan was a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam; he was retired from Buchanan Oil Company and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Don is survived by his wife, Dot Looper Buchanan; a son, Donald Joe “Joey” Buchanan, Jr. (Jordan); two daughters, Shannon Boykin (Tripp) and Sherri Posada (Diego); a step-son, Scott Vaughn (Cheryl); 7 grandchildren, Rylie, Carter, Bradley, Jack, Oliver, Jasmine and Austin; 2 step-grandsons, Caleb & Wil; 4 sisters, Jewell Holquest, Georgia Hooper, Tracy Yelton , Samantha Yelton and a brother, Curtis Yelton.

In addition to his mother he was predeceased by a step-son, Stephen Vaughn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Shiloh Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

The family will be at the home.
